The volunteer Board of Directors of Montachusett Home Care provide ongoing direction, guidance, and oversight to ensure the agency’s mission is being fulfilled. Volunteers for the Money Management Program help those individuals who have difficulty managing their finances. Volunteers in the Medical Escort/Companion Program provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping assistance, and serve as friendly visitors to provide much needed socialization to those who live alone.
Lori A. Richardson, CEO, honored the attendees for their many years of volunteer service, emphasizing the transformative power volunteers have in the lives of those they serve. She noted the agency was formed 45 years ago by volunteers. She also recognized the combined years of service from current volunteers at the agency totaled over 500 years. Of the seventy-two volunteers who serve the agency, thirty have continually served from five to nineteen years, and six have served for more than twenty years.
